The TrainingPeaks calendar has been around for as long as there’s been a TrainingPeaks, but this humble yet central organizing tool has several features that can dramatically reduce clicks and speed up a coach’s workflow, freeing up time (and sanity!). Here are five (or more!) features that will help you coach more efficiently.

      1. Keyboard Shortcuts

      Keyboard Shortcuts

Every click counts. That’s where keyboard shortcuts come in—built-in time savers designed to cut through the extra steps. Want to duplicate a workout? Hold C + drag and drop it where you need it. Looking to dive straight into analysis? A + click skips Quickview and takes you right into the data. Need to edit a structured workout? E + click drops you directly into the builder. These little hacks keep you moving faster through your calendar.

      2. Jump to Comment

When you hit the comment icon on a workout, the cursor jumps straight into the post-activity comment box—ready for you to fire off quick feedback, motivation, or next steps. No extra clicks, no wasted time—just faster connections with your athletes where it matters most.

      3. Recurring Workouts

      Recurring Workout

Recurring workouts let Coaches save serious planning time by scheduling workouts to repeat automatically—set it once and let it run for up to 90 days. From your calendar, just hit “+,” choose “Does not repeat,” pick your days, weeks, and end date, then save; TP handles the rest. Adjusting or deleting future workouts? You can tweak or remove single events—or all upcoming ones—with just a few clicks. Note: it’s a web-only feature and doesn’t affect workouts already in progress.

      4. Right Click +___

      Right Click

You can right-click directly on workout cards, daily columns, or weekly summaries to pull up more menu options instantly. No mouse? No problem—CTRL + Click gives you the same shortcut. Less digging, fewer clicks, faster edits.

      5. Week Controls

      Week Control

Those three little dots at the end of your TrainingPeaks calendar aren’t just decoration—they’re your Week Controls, a fast way to manage whole blocks of training at once. Coaches often use them to rough out a plan: drop in the staples (like off-days or strength work), then copy and paste those workouts forward in seconds. You can also cut, paste, hide, lock, shift, or delete weeks of training with a couple of clicks. Just a heads-up—there’s no undo yet, so make sure you’re confident before making big moves.

      6. Mass Copy/Paste

      Bulk Copy

Even after doing TrainingPeaks University for more than ten years, one of the biggest gasps in the room we get is when we demo this TrainingPeaks calendar functionality.

Need to copy a block of training? Just click the day header where you want to start, hold Shift, and click the header where you want to end. The selected range will be highlighted in blue. A window will pop up—choose Copy. Then, click the header of the day you want to paste into, select Paste, and your whole block of workouts drops right in. Simple, fast, and way easier than dragging one workout at a time.

Data is everywhere—and yes, TrainingPeaks will happily display every metric your athletes record. But more isn’t always better. A cluttered calendar can slow you down and bury what really matters. The fix is simple: click the gear icon in the top right of your calendar and choose exactly what you want to see. Trim the noise, keep the essentials, and make your calendar work for you.

      8. Dual Calendar + Dragging and Dropping

Lastly, let’s not forget the Dual Calendar!

The Dual Calendar saves you time by letting you work with two calendars at once—perfect for comparing athletes, plans, or any combo that helps your workflow. Just click the Dual Calendar icon (top-right in the Calendar tab), then drag an athlete, athlete group, or training plan into the empty adjoining view. Now you’re set for fast drag-and-drop moves between them. You can copy workouts from one athlete to another, move a training plan into an athlete’s calendar, sync workouts from an athlete back into a plan, push plan workouts to an entire group, compare versions of the same athlete side by side, and even transfer workouts between plans. It’s a powerful, time-saving playground for flexible coaching.

      Remember, Every Second Counts!

When you look at the numbers, saving even a few seconds on a repetitive task compounds fast. That’s why trimming clicks in the TrainingPeaks calendar isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s a coaching advantage. The less friction in your workflow, the more bandwidth you have for the things only you can do: analyzing the ride that really mattered, writing the comment that keeps an athlete motivated, or zooming out to refine the bigger picture. Efficiency isn’t about shortcuts; it’s about freeing up more of your time and focus to coach better.
